چکیده

The study was undertaken to evaluate the effect of foliar sulphur (S) nutrition through Ammonium Thiosulphate (ATS) under conservation management on growth, photosynthetic efficiency and productivity rainfed pearl millet in dryland ecologies New Delhi 2021 2022 crop years. established (ZTCRret) achieved significantly higher growth rate (CGR) relative (RGR) as a result improved photosynthesis terms net assimilation (NAR) productive tiller production (RPTP). ZTCRret by 26.6 13.5 % during 2021, 27.6 12.7 over zero tillage (ZTCRrem) conventional (ConTil), respectively. application recommended dose S at 30 kg ha-1 resulted dramatic improvement indices control ATS doses upto 0.5% twice. Foliar once successively were found improve control, however, 1.0% twice could only achieve statistically similar levels CGR RGR RDS that led RPTP with which non-significant yield difference. Therefore, tilled residue retained plots supplemented feeding 20 DAS (4-6 leaves stage) 50 (flowering can be practiced without significant loss.

Conservation Agriculture Practices in Rainfed Uplands of India Improve Maize-Based System Productivity and Profitability

Traditional agriculture in rainfed uplands of India has been experiencing low agricultural productivity as the lands suffer from poor soil fertility, susceptibility to water erosion and other external pressures of development and climate change. A shift toward more sustainable cropping systems such as conservation agriculture production systems (CAPSs) may help in maintaining soil quality as we...

Balanced plant nutrition enhances rainfed crop yields and water productivity in Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh states of India

Two hundred and thirty six soil samples from farmers’ fields in the Gumla and Saraikela districts of Jharkhand, and Jhabua and Mandla districts of Madhya Pradesh were analyzed for soil chemical fertility. Results showed deficiencies of sulphur (43 to 100% of samples), boron (69 to 98%), and zinc (5 to 73%). Majority of the farmers’ fields, except for those in the Saraikela district, fell in the...

Pearl Millet Growth as Affected by Phosphorus and Water

The interaction of soiil water and P supply is of paramount importance to pearl millet [Penniseturn gluucum (L.) R. Br.] growth in Sahelian Africa due to unreliable rainfall and low soil P availability. This study was conducted to quantify the growth response of pe:ul millet to water supply and P under conditions analogous to the Saliel in terms of climatle and soil. Millet was grown for 84 d i...

Seed and Foliar Application of Amino Acids Improve Variables of Nitrogen Metabolism and Productivity in Soybean Crop

The application of amino acids in crops has been a common practice in recent years, although most of the time they are associated with products based on algae extracts or on fermented animal or vegetable wastes. However, little is known about the isolated effect of amino acids on the development of crops. Therefore, the objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of the application of...
